Pageant Star!

Kiley was in her first pageant today & we are the proudest parents ever. She did SO well and came home with 2 beautiful crowns and a sash, winning the "Most Beautiful/Princess Award" & "Most Beautiful Eyes" for the 2/3 yr old girl division.
The NES pageants focus on the natural beauty of the competitors and don't allow make-up, flippers (fake teeth), or spray tanning like the glitz pageants. My friend Lourie has been trying to get us to put Kiley in a pageant since she was a little baby, and when NES decided to have a pageant in Redding, we had to give it a try! Kiley was thrilled about dressing up like a princess, learning fun "moves" from her coach, Lourie and performing for the judges & audience. They started with casual wear & Kiley wore the cutest cheer-leading outfit. Then came swimwear, and then beauty- both outfits were e-bay specials! And she looked adorable.
I had to be sneaky with my picture taking because there were no cameras allowed at the pageant. They had a professional photographer taking pics and we'll be getting a disc with her pictures soon! But for now, my "illegal" ones will have to do!

She was a little shy at first...But had it down by the end!Munching on some chocolate- another prize from the pageant.

She looked like a baby doll!

Daddy & mommy gave her this little pony to celebrate all her hard work in the pageant.

It was a bit easier to get a smiling picture at home, where we could legally take pics. Her hair wasn't curled in the ringlets in this one... but still cute!

And this is the swimsuit she wore for the swimwear competition.

The Most Wonderful Gift

My aunt & uncle blessed our family with the most amazing gift- one fully paid week at Wonder Valley camp in Sanger, CA. It's a family camp, run through an organization started by Joni Aerickson, focused on providing respite and FUN to families who have a child with a disability.
We enjoyed pony rides, trampolines, waterslides, swimming, a hot air balloon ride, trolley rides, a couples dinner (while the kids had a pizza party), BBQ's, a talent show... the list goes on and on...
We made some great friends, as did our kids, and will never forget this awesome experience.
There are too many pictures from this fun fun week, I'll post my favorites....

We received a very warm & enthusiastic welcome.
This is where we stayed. It was so beautiful!
Our little campers, ready for the day!
We dropped them off at their kiddie camp for a few hours each morning. Here's Vicki w/ Kiley, Cody, Selah & Cole.

On our trip home, we stopped in Modesto for In n Out.

And another pit stop at Arden Fair mall... mommy's favorite :)

Happy Birthday Alex!

Our little friend Alex invited the kids to her 5th birthday party out in Palo Cedro. It was the cutest thing I've ever seen- a cowboy/cowgirl theme, complete with pony rides, haystacks & the works. We also said goodbye to Carissa, Alex, Shelby & Zack, as they headed back to NC. We had some fun play dates & get-togethers and we'll miss you guys!

Turtle Bay Fun

Carissa & I took the kids (minus Cody, who was in preschool) to Turtle Bay to have some fun. We're really going to miss these fun friends!
