On the Road Again

Yep, it's true.

Our beloved house is on the market. After much prayer and debate, we have decided it would be best for our family to move up to Calgary (CANADA). It has not been an easy decision and we have such mixed feelings about it. We do have family up there, which will help make the transition much easier and we've always wanted our kids to grow up knowing their grandparents. There is an amazing school for kids struggling with autism and we have Cody on their waiting list and are really hoping he will be in by this fall.
(You can learn more about the school here.)
While we are happy with the preschool Cody is in here, Redding just doesn't offer the therapies that Cody really needs. In Calgary, we'll have so many programs to choose from and we can still implement a part-time Son-Rise program on the side.
We are doing a short-sale on our house and David has applied for U.S. citizenship. We are hoping he will have his U.S. passport by mid-summer so we can move up by the fall. There are still several things that need to fall into place, so please keep us in your prayers!

1. the short sale of our house
2. David's U.S. citizenship (he's about 1/2 way through the process)
3. Cody's school (He's currently #10 on the waiting list)
4. The "perfect" job for David up in Calgary. (We would love to have him home more than he is now!)
5. The "perfect" place to live. (We'll be house-hunting for a house with enough room for our busy kids, but that we can afford on one income).

To all our Californian friends & "family," we are going to miss you more than we can say! Redding has really become home & it's going to be hard to say goodbye.

No sacrifice is too big when it comes to this little guy.

Mommy Daughter Date

David & I thought it would be fun to take turns taking the kids out one at a time on "dates" with just daddy or just mommy. David and the boys hung out at home while Kiley and I set out for some girl time. She loves painting & anything artsy these days so we went to All Fired Up and painted our own little ceramic masterpieces. Kiley's room is very girly- pink with butterflies everywhere, so we picked out a light switch plate cover (that we can take with us to her next room) and a butterfly. They turned out really cute! The painting was very therapeutic. I could've spent all day there. It was fun to hang out and do something fun with just us girls. We ended the fun with a shopping trip to our favorite Target.

Little Artist hard at work

She took it very seriously!

Kiley's butterfly is on the left & I painted the lightswitch plate on the right. They look really shiny after they put them through their oven. So they're not quite finished here, but you get the idea. :)

Latest Happenings...

DARE DEVIL CHILD
This one has no fear!
Yes, my son WOULD figure out a way to "ski" down the slides- he can do it fully standing, one foot on each side. No pictures because I'm right there beside him, afraid he's going to fall!
The preferred method of swinging lately. Kiley says they're being airplanes.
So easily entertained. As long as they get to drive their truck, grocery shopping is a breeze!

Kiley helping me shop. Have you seen these mini shopping carts they have in stores? The little flag says "Shopper in Training". Too cute. I tell her what we need and she loves putting it in her cart.

Baby Caedon is 5 months old and full of personality. He is rolling around the livingroom like a pro. Unlike his brother & sister, he is not sleeping through the night- they both slept so well at his age!

He's a very happy baby though, so I have few complaints!

Or should I say Canadian Idol?
Or Brazilian Idol?
