As you all know, we're crazy busy packing, yard saling & trying to get a zillion things done before our move to Canada in just over 2 weeks. Caedon was napping and Cody and Kiley were playing in the backyard. We have a huge backyard, safely fenced all the way around & I check on them frequently when they're playing back there. I was inside grabbing some popsicles for them when I heard Cody start yelling, "HELP ME! HELP ME!" I ran outside and could hear him but couldn't see him anywhere. I finally saw him on the other side of the fence- in the neighbors' yard behind our house. The fence is 7 feet high and I have no idea how he climbed that thing! He was scared and kept asking me to "open the door," so he could come back to our side of the fence. :) We had just sold our ladder at our yard sale and the fence was too high for me to climb. I thought about driving around to the other side of the neighborhood, but I had no idea what their house looked like- just their back yard. So I started to panick and decided to call 911, that all too familiar number. The police arrived in record time and brought our little guy home, safe & sound. I had to snap a picture of him getting out of the cop car with the big tough policemen. Hopefully this will be our last encounter, but I somewhat doubt it. On a sidenote, I am SO thankful that this set of neighbors didn't own any mean dogs. I'm sure I would've found the way over the fence myself if they had.

I have to say that this post made me laugh. I am not sure if I was suppose to laugh but I did. It is little things like this that make it into those great family stories later in life. "Remember when Cody jumped the 7 foot fence and came home in a police car." I love it! Seriously shows some great problem solving skills to climb a 7 ft high fence. Seriously, how did he do it those fences don't have much to climb up on.
I can't even believe what I read! What another crazy story you have to tease Cody with when he is older. It will forever be a mystery as to how he got over the fence but I am glad that you got a picture and also glad that there were no dogs!
CRA-ZY! What a little monkey you have. SO glad it had a happy ending! :)
OH MY GOSH, how scary!!! The picture made me laugh though. ;)
A scare like some of the ones David gave us when he was a little guy...
Ask him to tell you about the time in Brazil when he left the house to "go find where the sound of drums was coming from". Thank God it was a small town and everybody knew that the little white, blond kid was one of Dr. Eagleton's sons! A lady found him and brought him home. We did not have 911 there!
As you said, thank the Lord your neighbors don't have dogs!
Nice picture, btw!!
